This is a busy time for our class and the days will start to fly by!  Here are a few things to take note of:

Track and Field:  Congratulations to all the students who took home ribbons from our school track and field meet.  Yesterday, Katie and Andrew represented our class at the Regional Track and Field meet.  Both students enjoyed the day and gained some experience for next year.  Andrew will be moving on with the relay team to compete at the District meet this Friday.  Good luck Andrew!  We send you a big Shazam!

The Granny Awards - Many of students are involved in the school play, "The Granny Awards."  Our budding actors and actresses have been practising for months and look forward to performing tomorrow.  There is an afternoon performance for the whole school at 1:05 p.m. and an evening performance at 6:30 p.m. I can't wait to see the show!  Break a leg kids!

Pioneers Unit - Our final Social Studies unit of the year is Pioneer Times.  A reminder to parents that our class will be travelling to Heritage Village and Transportation Museum on Tuesday, June 19.  The bus will be leaving school at 8:45 a.m. and returning at 2:30 p.m.  We will be spending quite a bit of time outside.  Please ensure that the children are dressed appropriately with hats and sunscreen if it is a hot day.  Students should bring a lunch (including a water bottle).  There is a little gift shop where students may purchase souvenirs.

Students will also be working in small groups to research one aspect of pioneer life.  Students will be presenting their findings during the last week of school and will have a choice of creating a model, poster board, diorama, painting, diagram etc.  In the next few days, I will be conferencing with each group to help them choose the best method of presenting their information.  We are very excited about our new research project and look forward to learning more about the Early Settlers.

PLEASE CHECK WEDNESDAY'S POST FOR RUBRIC AND RESEARCH SITES.
